Reflection ( week 10)
Seminar
Upon arrival at the seminar today, our tutor had advice us to reflect and make progress on our blogs as well as our video. In my reflection over Easter break, the group had meet up to finish our recording for our video presentation.
As we concluded the group task, I had learnt different issues that a business like HR Education Limited faces on a daily basis in relation on management information system.
From the report conducted by my other colleagues, businesses can be affected its operation because of various related to information system. The most prevalent issues occurs are: how businesses adopt information policies in different countries, e.g. how long some information is kept in ta companies file as well as its legal matters.
Also, in some countries, information system issues that have a huge impact to business is as simple as slow internet connection due to poor infrastructures.
For example, in Pakistan, power shortage sometimes happens, thereby it affect internet connectivity it then disrupting their operation.
So, in our group task, I was assigned to present about internet connection issues that may or can affect business such as HR Education Limited. It is interesting to know that internet is one important form of communication where businesses relied upon whether it informing internally and outside the organisation. It is therefore important that businesses must always equipped a reliable internet facilities to avoid mishap on their daily functions.
HR Education use internet on a daily basis to communicate to their clients across the three branches.
So, internet I would say has a huge role ton play in the success of nay organisations particularly in business sector.

Reflection over Easter break ( week 9)
Over the Easter break, our group TRIMD had meet up to finalise our recording for the task.
We had managed ton put our power point slides.
We also send our progress through social media, such as our scripts of our points and solutions to put on our slides.
When we came back yesterday, we started to film our video and we are going to continue our group recording.
Reflecting on our group tasks, I would say that organizing for a meet up is not an easy tasks as we most of us have individual responsibilities out of our studies therefore it affected the overall outcome on our assignment.
On the other hand, it has made me realised that cooperation is paramount to achieve our aim and goal.

Reflection
Lecture notes
In the lecture, the discussion was about "Business Model in the Digital World."
The lecture focuses on different areas which beneficial to business operation.
As example: "Video on five trends shaping the future of work."
I have gained of understanding that digital world in business has a huge impact in relation to business functions.
Particularly, the two elements such as: Processes and Routines.
It allows businesses to transform business operation and data collections. It can also be useful for personal or individual use.
Also, Information Technology and organisation influences various areas such as:
Technical, means social structure where processes resource from the environment top produce outputs.
Behavior, means a privileges, obligation and responsibilities. In other words, it is balancing these three categories periodically over conflicts and management solution.
In this lecture, I have learnt five types of Mintzberg Organisational Structure and these are called:
Entrepreneurial
Machine Bureaucracy
Divisionalised Beaureaucracy
Professional Beaureauracy
Adhocracy

Upon arriving at the seminar, our tutor instruct to do an activity creating a pivot table on excel. In creating pivot table, I have learned that pivot table is important element in business and employees working efficacy.
Pivot table, helps retrieve information or data easily. I have learned that pivot table is useful in finding, analysing and data summary. As well as creating short report containing data and other information.
Basically, pivot table enables the company's decision makers decide efficiently.
After excel activity, our group TRIMD have discussed into finishing our group task. Which we are going to arrange group meet up over semester break to finalise the presentation and record the video.

Week 6
WEEK 6
Lecture
In this lecture, the main topic is about " cloud computing and relational databases."
I have learnt the importance of of a few main point about cloud computing and it is called: software as a service, e.g. web-service model. Web-service model is the one aspect of computing which supports and manage the information system part. Web-service model helps all kind of businesses processes.
Another one is known as utility computing. This aspect basically is the organising of any information data a company have. However, obtaining this function is based on subscription basis.
Seminar
In the seminar, our group have discussed regarding the group presentation. The progress at where we are with our group task.
We discussed how we structured our MIS presentation. Which we are now on the process of finalising our presentation. However, we still have to make some follow up interview to the chosen business to get additional information regarding limitations in relation to rules and regulations of different countries such as Pakistan, where they also have a business there.
In our group meeting at the seminar, I have learned that this group task will have to be downloaded to YouTube.
Now, we are on the process of allocating time for practice session. ]
We also have been given a handout entitled: The Lookup & VLookup functions.
In this exercise, we have to create data in excel. With this handout, it shows me how to find data in excel such as if I want to look certain information e.g. a name of a product or item number.
Lookup function is used to search data or find data in excel.

Fir instance, IS uses this to gather and analyse data or information from within and outside sources.
In every business, they always face various challenges that they have to dealt with in a daily basis as due to usage of a large amount of data across the organisation as well as worldwide.
Information dealt with huge amount of data, and it helps them make better decisions.
Business intelligence is a must to help planning and so fort.
They also have intelligent agents, they provide specific services and so on.

In the seminar, I have learned to input data at the word excel. Where we been through forecasting different expenses in business .
Also, we have discussed briefly the meeting that my group had done to our chosen company.

Lecture

I have learned that reflelctive writing is when the person is respondomng to something though experiences or opinions.
Whereas, descriptive writing is when an individual is able deccribe events. For instance, decriving how beautiful a place using emotive language and so on.
Group Task
With regards to our group task, our group have set a date fot an interview to the chosen company.
The inteview will be taking place possibly next week. Also, we manage to formed a few questions for the interview.

REFLECTION OF OUR GROUP WORK AT THE SEMINAR
In the seminar, our group have gathered, created a plan on what are going to do in the coming week.
The group name TRIMD has been created as well as we have picked the company we are going to investigate for our group task.
We picked a company named: HR EDUCATION LTD, a company offering different services such as helping students to study abroad.
Also, the group have decided to set a meeting to visit the company, do some research to learn more about the company's issues in relation to Information system.
We also have created out bloggers account in the seminar.

Our tutor has introduced the Management & Information System module in more detail.
It was also explained that plagiarism is unacceptable, and the University has zero tolerance policy on plagiarism.
As well as introducing the two part of the coursework. Of which the first coursework is the group of 4 to 5 students and find any organisations private, public or non-profit to investigate its issues or problem related to Information System.
The second part of the coursework which is the individual one, where each week we have to post blogs reflecting what we have done in the lecture and the group task.
In the lecture, I also learned how the tutor will assess module.
